JUNE KEY POINTS
FINAL DEMAND (EXCL. EXPORTS)
- rose 0.3% in the June quarter 2018.
- mainly due to rises in the prices received for Heavy and civil engineering construction (+1.5%), Building construction (+1.2%) and Petroleum refining and petroleum fuel manufacturing (+11.9%).
- partly offset by falls in the prices received for Other agriculture (-2.9%), Fishing (-18.9%) and Professional and scientific equipment manufacturing (-2.3%).
- rose 1.5% through the year to the June quarter 2018.
INTERMEDIATE DEMAND
- rose 0.9% in the June quarter 2018.
- mainly due to rises in the prices received for Petroleum refining and petroleum fuel manufacturing (+11.0%), Oil and gas extraction (+9.6%) and Sheep, beef cattle and grain farming; and dairy cattle farming (+4.3%).
- partly offset by falls in the prices received for Real estate services (-2.8%), Fishing (-9.2%) and Accommodation (-6.4%).
- rose 4.1% through the year to the June quarter 2018.
PRELIMINARY DEMAND
- rose 1.1% in the June quarter 2018.
- mainly due to rises in the prices received for Petroleum refining and petroleum fuel manufacturing (+10.2%), Oil and gas extraction (+9.0%) and Textile, leather, clothing and footwear manufacturing (+1.5%).
- partly offset by falls in the prices received for Real estate services (-1.1%), Coal mining (-2.6%) and Other agriculture (-2.3%).
- rose 4.4% through the year to the June quarter 2018.

CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE
The June quarter 2018 issue of the Producer Price Indexes will include reweighted price indexes for:
- 3019 Other residential building construction.
- 3020 Non-residential building construction.
- 3101 Road and bridge construction.
- 3109 Other heavy and civil engineering construction.
CHANGES IN FUTURE ISSUES
From September quarter 2018, the Producer Price Indexes, Australia (cat. no. 6427.0) publication will cease publishing the following series in Table 12 Output of the Manufacturing industries, division, subdivision, group and class index numbers:
- 1312 Natural textile manufacturing.

REVISIONS TO THE STAGE OF PRODUCTION INDEXES
The June quarter 2018 issue of the
Producer Price Indexes, Australia (cat. no. 6427.0) includes revisions to the Stage of Production (SOP) analytical series.
These changes align the SOP measures with the revisions applied to the
International Trade Price Indexes, Australia (cat. no. 6457.0) in the June quarter 2018.
The revisions apply to the following quarters: December quarter 2017 and March quarter 2018.
The series impacted by these revisions include:
- Final; Imports;
- Final; Total; Capital;
- Final; Imports; Consumer;
- Final; Imports; Capital;
- Intermediate; Domestic;
- Intermediate; Imports;
- Preliminary; Imports;
- Preliminary; Headline;
These series are annotated in Tables 1, 2, 3, 4 and 10 time series spreadsheets.
